Abby is the Founder, Director, and Chief Choreograper of the Abby Lee Dance Company. Her love for dance came from her mother Maryen, a dance studio owner. Abby started the ALDC at 14 years old and built her state-of-the-art studio in 1992. She has taught more then 10,000 students who have had many successful carrers which includes contracts with Tokyo Disneyland and being a Dance Supervisor for the casts of Wicked all over the globe.
Abby came to even more fame when Lifetime launched "Dance Moms", a series focusing on the highly competative dance moms at Abby's studio. The series is currently in it's 4th season with an average 2.1 million viewes each week. Abby launched her 2nd show in 2012 called Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition. AUDC was a dance competition show where dancers competed for $100,000 and a scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Abby served as Head Judge and Mentor for the show, which had it's 2nd season in 2013.
